In what will undoubtedly be one of the biggest tourist booms South Africa has ever seen, 2010 looks set to bring boundless opportunities to service providers throughout the hospitality industry. Timed specifically to help companies take advantage of these opportunities, Hostex Cape 2010 is set to take the Cape by storm. This is one exhibition you can’t afford to miss.
HOSTEX is the largest and longest-running exhibition of its kind in Africa, and the only one endorsed by the South African Chefs Association. An integral part of the local food services and hospitality sector for 24 years in Gauteng, and returning to the Cape for the eighth time from 8 to 10 March 2010 at Cape Town International Convention Centre, HOSTEX promises to bring all the attractions which have become firm favourites, as well as some new and exciting additions.
From non-stop action in the SA Chefs Pavilion, to speciality products in the Home Grown/SME Village, to the second annual Global Pizza Challenge , HOSTEX Cape will be hotter than ever before. New additions include a ‘Wine Circle’ showcasing the Cape’s finest, and much more.
Important note for industry students (who must be over 18) : Please note that student access to Hostex Cape 2010 is limited to Wednesday 10 March.
Student groups should kindly apply in writing to the organisers for approval to visit the exhibition by emailing lynnc@specialised.com.

New for 2010 ...........
In response to the overwhelming international move towards a more environmentally conscious approach to all aspects of hospitality, Hostex Cape will, for the first time ever, feature a Greenstuff Village, which will be managed by highly regarded environmental consultant to the hospitality industry, Lorraine Jenks of Hotelstuff.co.za.
In addition to an exhibition area of suppliers of green products and services, the Greenstuff Village will feature a Green Hotel, taking the form of a series of rooms typically found in a hotel, with a comprehensive showcase of green products. Each room – the bedroom, bathroom, restaurant, industrial kitchen/laundry and garden – will exhibit approximately a dozen pre-approved suppliers of green products and services, including furniture, linen, packaging, appliances, detergents and much more.
The exhibition area opposite the Green Hotel will consist of a selection of small, cost effective stands, offering green suppliers the opportunity for even greater exposure.
