Feedback from exhibitors at Hostex Cape 2010 reflected positively on the organisation of the show, the overall quality of the stands, the variety of equipment exhibited, and the vibrant atmosphere at the show. Many believe that the show was greatly enhanced by the new features, specifically the Global Pizza Challenge, the Wine Circle and the Greenstuff Village and Green Hotel, with more than ever before for visitors to see and do.
Said Graham Donet, General Manager of the South African Chefs Association,
“The quality of visitor and interest in our stand was exceptionally high this year. It’s a great show with strong chef content in the form of the Chefs Village, Pizza Challenge and By Invitation Only competition. I was impressed with the quality of stands and the variety of equipment showcased at this year’s show. It’s a more intimate show than in Jo’burg and has a great buzz.”
Derek McMahon of Mac Brothers believes that the show was well-organised and the standard of the stands was higher than he has seen in previous years.
Ann Carroll of Gasket Manufacturing Corporation thought the attention to detail in the show’s organisation was excellent and, although their stand was not visited by many of the major players, they enjoyed good attendance from B&Bs and smaller establishments.
Lizette Ebersohn reported that the HP Print Station stand was busy, with lots of interest shown in their services. “We’ve only just started targeting the hospitality industry and were looking to build our customer base. It was definitely a worthwhile exercise for us,” she said.
Philippe Frydman of Bistro Products, a first-time exhibitor at Hostex Cape, said, “We were surprised and delighted with the quality of visitors and the leads we generated from the show. It was well organised, with a good mix of exhibitors and I was impressed by the behaviour of the students.”
